The Cottage
The Cottage was built in 2001 in typical Swedish Falun red and white style. It has been designed to be lived in all year round with triple glazing and high levels of insulation.
As with everything is Sweden, environmental considerations were paramount. It has its own well providing pumped water all year round for the shower, flush toliet and modern kitchen.
Being only 30 meters away from Stor Sjo Lake drainage is provided by the modern version of a reed bed ensuring no polution enters either the lake or the water table. This has become law for all properties situated close to a lake.
Accommodation
As you walk through the front door, take your shoes off and marvel at the beautiful pine clad high ceiling with a slight lime wash finish.
You walk into the bright open plan lounge with TV for watching DVD's (a small library of family DVD's is available) & kitchen space with doors opening onto the large deck. The beautiful blue grey kithen dining area is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge and freezer and of course coffee machine, ensuring you will be able to take full advantage of the excellent continental food selection available in Sweden.
The WC & shower room even has a utility area with washing machine.
Outside the deck surrounds two sides of the cottage ensuring you can worship the sun all day long. Make the most of the long Swedish summer days, enjoy a BBQ. The sun rises at about 3 am and just dips below the horizon at around midnight, travelling almost full circle round the sky in the process. If you are unable to sleep just sit outside and read a book!
Accommodation for 5 + 1 = 1 Double bedroom with wardrobes, 1 bunk bedded room with wardrobe plus an enchanting guests annexe (Alistair's House) with single bed, sofa and wardrobe. There is a spare matress for use on the floor with your own sleeping bag if there are six of you. Sorry, no pets allowed and we thank you for not smoking inside.
